Locks and gates

The key lock at Slough House Farm is being replaced with a combination lock this Friday 12th Feb so please have your number to hand if you are planning on fishing there from Friday as vehicles parked outside of our car park can be towed away by the land owner.  Our combination lock number can be found on page 1 of your 2015 rulebook and on the back of your 2015-16 membership card (blue sticker).

Our welder will also be inspecting the Totham Pit gate on the same day to advise us on how this can be made more secure so please approach the entrance to Totham  Pit with extra caution on Friday.

The entrance to Little Park now has a key lock fitted and members are reminded that the white gates on Maypole Road are now our only entrance to this fishery.

Finally, our key locks at Howells, Rook Hall and Heron Hall have all recently been serviced or replaced so all should now be working smoothly.

Rule changes

At the December committee meeting the following rule changes were agreed:

Rule 5.6 – it was agreed that non-disposable BBQs can be used between 1st Oct and 31st Mar but disposable BBQs are still banned.

Rule 2.2 – it was agreed that night permit holders can now fish 2 consecutive nights on Slough House Farm between 1st Nov and 31st Mar (the all year round toilet facility and the fact that there are no matches at Slough House Farm after the end of Oct was taken into consideration).

Slough House Farm might have to close

The committee have decided that if the new permanent pegs at Slough House Farm (numbered white wooden posts) continue to be pulled out, snapped off, tampered with and generally vandalised then the lake will have to be closed for fishing until further notice.  This might also lead to a permanent ban on night fishing being imposed.  Any member caught vandalising a peg will be subject to disciplinary action which could result in the withdrawal of night permit or a suspension / ban, but if not caught in the act then closing the lake completely is the only other option.  There are 25 numbered pegs on Slough House Farm and the numbers are not just to benefit match anglers but also assist our bailiffs as well.  A notice to this effect has been put on the gate at Slough House Farm and the situation is being actively monitored by our bailiffs.

Alf Burton Memorial Trophy

The Alf Burton Memorial Trophy fished at Slough House Farm on Tue 21st July produced over 190lb of fish and was won by Steve Holden with 29lbs  7ozs.
