Unhooking mat found at Bog Grove

One of our members was fishing at Bog Grove yesterday 31st Oct and found an unhooking mat hanging in the trees. It would be nice if the owner gets it back.  Please contact the membership secretary or email webmaster@maldonas.co.uk if the unhooking mat belongs to you.

Autumn reminder

Members are reminded that Rook Hall and Whitehouse Farm reservoir are now closed for the 4 month duck shooting season and will re-open on Thursday 1st Feb 2018.  There are also occasional duck shoots at Slough House West and Little London so please keep an eye out for signs at the entrance to these fisheries, especially on Fridays.

Night fishing at Bog Grove has now started and runs through until the 30th April 2018.

3 rods are now allowed on all venues for all standard night permit and Howells night permit holders as well as for members who have purchased the £30 winter 3 rod upgrade.  Regardless of which night permit you have you can use 3 rods on all venues including Howells.

The sun sets on another summer’s fishing at Rook Hall.

Coming soon – our half price winter ticket

From 1st October the half price winter ticket to fish until the end of the season will again be available. To join please print off this Winter Ticket Application Form 2017-18  follow the instructions and post it off to the membership secretary or take your photos (or old membership card) and payment to JP Tackle or Angling Essentials from Sat 30th Sep where you can join in person and go fishing straight away (a one day bonus this year as the 1st October falls on a Sunday).  Please note that this year a limited number of half price standard night permits upgrades are available (priced £32.50 from the membership secretary and JP Tackle only) and these also allow you to use 3 rods on all venues.  If you bought a £30 winter three rods upgrade earlier in the season you can now upgrade this to a standard night permit for just £2.50 (I only sold five of these so this is a targeted offer!).

For additional info please see the back of the winter ticket application form and the winter ticket poster

Bog Grove – the same photo as last year but I don’t get out in the cold as much as I used to.

Jack Morley wins the 2016-17 Tench Trophy

Jack Morley was presented with the T

Totham Pit stocking policy

A few members have asked now that we have a new ten year lease on Totham Pit what our stocking policy is.  Based on previous experience we are proceeding cautiously and with this in mind we have moved two dozen carp from Bog Grove to Totham Pit with the owners consent to monitor how they fare next spring.  If all goes well we have purchased thirty carp averaging low doubles to stock into Totham Pit next autumn.  These are a good strain of fish that have grown to 25lb+ in some of our other waters so hopefully they will do likewise in Totham Pit.

New Totham Pit and Bog Grove licence secured

Good news, after two years of negotiations we have been successful in securing a new ten year licence for Totham Pit and Bog Grove.  This at last puts any rumours to bed regarding the future of these two lakes within our portfolio.  Maintenance works have continued on both of these fisheries during the last two years including the repair of paths, bridges, steps and swims plus numerous trimming up exercises.  This new ten year agreement allows us to extend this to include fish stocks and gate upgrades.
