AGM – Sunday 21st January 2018 at 3pm

The Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday 21st January 2018 at Great Totham village hall starting at the new time of 3pm.

The venue for our AGM.

Please bring your membership card along to speed up entry on the door.

2018-19 memberships and night permit renewals will be available on the day along with a selection of club merchandise such as hoodies, shirts and hats.

Rook Hall will be open for fishing on the 12th and 13th Aug

On the 12th and 13th August there is a Military and Flying Machine Show close to Rook Hall but the owner has told us that the gate will be open and fishing is allowed for members on both days. Parking will be to the left as you drive in and just tell the people on the gate that you are fishing.  More info about the event can be found at http://www.militaryandflyingmachines.org.uk/about/Whatson.html.

Visit to Beeleigh Mill

Visit to Beeleigh Mill on  Sunday 9th July  as guests of the Beeleigh Mill Restoration Group

If you were at our talk on the 23rd May, you will know that our next event is a visit to Beeleigh Mill on the afternoon of the 9th July. From a personal point of view I have to say that I found the talk fascinating and I can’t wait to see this historic site in the flesh as it were!

I know that some people have been having trouble with the printed website address for registration. So you can use the link below instead to register.

Registration is highly desirable to help us avoid bottlenecks in the Engine Room tours, so please register if you can. If you can’t, don’t despair, the Mill restoration group have assured us that if you turn up on the day, you will be fitted in, even if you don’t have a ticket!

Two weeks later, weather permitting, we will be holding our Barbecue for boaters and members at Rushes Lock on 23rd July. This is always a pleasant and relaxed social event at one of the more remote and beautiful spots on the navigation. More details nearer the time, but please note the date in your diary.

You can always get the up-to-date list from our website events page at:  http://www.chelmercanaltrust.co.uk/events.htm

Yours Sincerely - William Marriage.

Minutes of the 2017 AGM

For those members who couldn’t make it along to our Annual General Meeting on Sun 22nd Jan here are the AGM 17 Minutes and the Fishery Management report.

Sun 25th Sep is going to be a busy day on the Chelmer & Blackwater canal

The 25th Sep is going to be a busy day for our Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation.  As well as the Maldon Marathon there is the Triathlon which will be starting at Hoe Mill.  This involves canoeing and cycling which will disrupt the river from Hoe Mill to Paper Mill including Beeleigh Lock.  The Driberg cup match at Boreham will also be affected.
