Little Parks turn for a trim up

With a big thank you to Jamie and Ryan the swims and pathway around Little Parks have now been trimmed up as they were getting quite overgrown.

Before and after the trim up.

Some more good news is that the gravel hump on the access track where the landowner has laid an irrigation pipe has now been smoothed off.

and the leaking dam wall on Little Park Top Lake has been relined with clay and the whole area tidied up

Further trim ups are already underway at Slough House Farm and Totham Pit and others are planned for Slough House West and various sections of the canal.

Visit to Beeleigh Mill

Visit to Beeleigh Mill on  Sunday 9th July  as guests of the Beeleigh Mill Restoration Group

If you were at our talk on the 23rd May, you will know that our next event is a visit to Beeleigh Mill on the afternoon of the 9th July. From a personal point of view I have to say that I found the talk fascinating and I can’t wait to see this historic site in the flesh as it were!

I know that some people have been having trouble with the printed website address for registration. So you can use the link below instead to register.

https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cct-members-visit-to-beeleigh-mill-tickets-34714257278

Registration is highly desirable to help us avoid bottlenecks in the Engine Room tours, so please register if you can. If you can’t, don’t despair, the Mill restoration group have assured us that if you turn up on the day, you will be fitted in, even if you don’t have a ticket!

Two weeks later, weather permitting, we will be holding our Barbecue for boaters and members at Rushes Lock on 23rd July. This is always a pleasant and relaxed social event at one of the more remote and beautiful spots on the navigation. More details nearer the time, but please note the date in your diary.

You can always get the up-to-date list from our website events page at:  http://www.chelmercanaltrust.co.uk/events.htm

Yours Sincerely - William Marriage.
