New restrictions at Whitehouse Farm

The owner of Whitehouse Farm has asked us to apply the following restrictions with immediate effect:

Junior members (aged under 16) can no longer fish the lake unless accompanied by an adult member aged 18+.

No fishing allowed after dusk (30 minutes after sunset).

An amount of litter has also been picked up at Whitehouse Farm, anybody caught littering will be banned for life.

These new restrictions were reviewed at the committee meeting on 1st March and it was agreed to keep them in place for the 2017-18 season.  As such they now appear in the new 2017 rulebook.  Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Ben bags up at Heron Hall

Our Treasurer took his son Ben fishing at Heron Hall on Monday and they enjoyed a great days sport catching upwards of 25lb of small carp, tench, roach and ide.

Simon’s own account can be found on our (fairly) new Facebook page.

Charlie shows his dad how its done

Simon Putnam wrote:

Hi Guys, just thought you may like to know some of your junior members are doing well. My son Charlie Putnam (age 6) caught this fish when we went to Little Park Lakes over the road from Howells. He had just put his floating dog biscuit out, I said to him keep an eye on your float while I get my rod together, immediately he said “dad I cant see my float”. I looked up and said to him to reel in a little, he did and his rod bent in to this! He was over the moon, he has caught carp upto 8lb before but this was he first double figure fish, and what a great PB for a 6 year old, a 16lb mirror carp (put me to shame anyway). Also big thanks to the guy and his wife for taking some pictures of us both.

Congratulations – Charlie has doubled his PB

Day Ticket price cut for under 16s

The cost of day tickets on the C&B canal has now been reduced to £2 for under 16 year olds.  These were previously £3 in tackle shops and £4.50 on the bank.
