Whitehouse Farm will be closed on Thursday 3rd March

The owner of Whitehouse Farm has asked us to close the lake on Thursday 3rd March.  Please do not attempt to fish the lake on this day.

Whitehouse Farm banks cleared

Following extensive bankside clearance works by the farmer at Whitehouse Farm on Wed 10th Feb the lake is now fishable all round but the banks are churned up:

As you can see from these photos the water level is also exceptionally high in advance of planned extraction for irrigation purposes later in the year.  As with any major works we anticipate that the banks will have recovered by the summer.

Whitehouse Farm closed on Thursday 19th March

The owner of Whitehouse Farm informed us on Saturday that his lake will be closed to members on Thursday 19th March for one day only – apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Rook Hall and Whitehouse Farm close for the winter

Members are reminded that all three lakes at Rook Hall and our popular Whitehouse Farm fishery are now closed for the winter duck shooting season and re-open to members on 1st Feb 2015.

Rook Hall and Whitehouse Farm – both will re-open on 1st Feb 2015.

Organised shoots at Slough House West

The owner of new lake Slough House West has recently informed us that a shooting syndicate use the lake and it will be closed for occasional organised shoots.  Notification of these shoots will be by way of a notice at the entrance to the fishery and the lake will not (at this time) be subjected to a close season similar to those we are obligated to enforce at Rook Hall and Whitehouse Farm as part of our lease agreements.  Hopefully disruption will be kept to a minimum as we believe that the shooting parties are only active at dawn and dusk.

Slough House West – please do not fish if a sign is on display to say that shooting is in progress (not that you would want to unless you wear a bullet proof vest and tin hat).

Whitehouse Farm holdall update

More good news, the fishing holdall left at Whitehouse Farm on 4th September has turned up intact.  Ours (and the owner’s) grateful thanks are given to the workers on the farm who picked it up and handed it to the landowner.
