We will be closing the pit on two Sundays in November in order to carry out work around the lake. Members are invited to come along and help. It wont be too taxing physically and these usually turn into a nice social day.

WORK PARTY NOTICE

Brick Kiln Pond to close to members on 30th Nov 2018

The owner of Brick Kiln Pond has notified us that he is selling the pond and the land around it.  The new owners wish to reserve the pond for their own employees and do not want anyone else to have access.  Members can fish Brick Kiln until the end of November but please do not fish there after this date.

Autumn reminder

Members are reminded that Rook Hall and Whitehouse Farm reservoir are now closed for the 4 month duck shooting season and will re-open on Friday 1st Feb 2019.  Night fishing at Bog Grove has now started for all night permit holders and runs through until the 30th April 2019.

3 rods are now allowed on all venues for all standard night permit and Howells night permit holders as well as for members who have purchased the £30 winter 3 rod upgrade.  Regardless of which night permit you have you can use 3 rods on all venues including Howells.

As we still have standard night permits for sale members now can upgrade to a night ticket for £32.50 (or just £2.50 if you already have a £30 winter 3 rod upgrade).

Two consecutive nights are allowed on Slough House Farm from Thu 1st Nov.

The sun sets on another summer’s fishing at Rook Hall.

Presidents match this Sat 22nd Sep

The Presidents Trophy will be fished from 10am to 3pm on Sat 22nd Sep at Slough House Farm with the draw for swims at around 8am. Entry will be £5 per head.  Slough House Farm will be closed to non-competitors from 6am to 4pm on Sat 22nd Sep.  If you would like to fish the match please contact Keith Leverett.

Rook Hall will be closed on Sun 17th Jun

All three lakes at Rook Hall will be closed to members on Sunday 17th June (Fathers Day) for the Blackwater Country Show.  More information regarding the show can be found at http://www.blackwatercountryshow.co.uk/.  Angling Coaching Initiative will be running a coarse fishing coaching session on the trout lake next to the Maldon Angling Society stall on the day.

Chelmer & Blackwater Close Season

Members of Maldon AS, Chelmsford AA, Kelvedon DAA, Colchester APS and day ticket anglers are reminded that our bailiffs and the Environment Agency will be enforcing the long standing three month close season between the 15th March and 15th June 2018 inclusive on the entire river/canal network.  This includes the whole of the Chelmer & Blackwater river and canal system including any offshoots, backwaters and the stretch below Beeleigh lock to Heybridge Basin.

16 of our stillwaters remain open during the river close season so MAS members who have joined for the 2018-19 season do not have to hang up their rods for 3 months.

The picturesque Ulting stretch of the Chelmer & Blackwater will be re-open for fishing, along with the other 14 miles, on Sat 16th June 2018.
