Crucians stocked into New Hall

Our anonymous benefactor is wondering if anyone has caught any of the crucian that we stocked into New Hall yet?  If you have please drop the webmaster a line or to at webmaster@maldonas.co.uk:

“Today Monday 4 May I went to New Hall for a spot of fishing, I was hoping to catch some Crucian Carp! I started in one of my favourite swims and after two hours I had not had a bite!! I moved to a swim next to the large Lilly Pad and I struggled to get bites but managed about half a pound of very small Roach and Rudd but no Crucian’s. I have never had such a bad day at New Hall in the past, always having a good bag of nice size Roach, Rudd and small Bream.  I noticed that someone had been fishing at some time in the first swim by the Lilly pad it would be nice to know what sort of session they had. So I was wondering if by the web people could post their reports of New Hall.” – Anon.

With a big thank you to the anonymous member who donated £500 to us to buy crucian carp for New Hall reservior I am now pleased to confirm that 85 crucian have been introduced to New Hall.  Probably around 30lbs in all – good size fish, the largest about 8oz.

New Hall is closed to fishing for the month of April so these fish will have a month to settle in before fishing resumes on Friday 1st May.

Whitehouse Farm closed on Thursday 19th March

The owner of Whitehouse Farm informed us on Saturday that his lake will be closed to members on Thursday 19th March for one day only – apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Slough House West to close early on Wednesday 7th January

There is a planned shoot at Slough House West on Tuesday 13th January (weather permitting) in the afternoon.  Please can you pack up and leave early as soon as the first shooters arrive.

Slough House West, an unsafe place for ducks between 1st Oct and 31st Jan.

First shoot at Slough House West

The man who runs the little shooting syndicate on Slough House West has informed us that they propose to hold their first small shoot this coming Tues 16th Sep in the evening at around dusk.  He will warn any anglers using the lake and put up a notice at the entrance to the fishery.

Organised shoots at Slough House West

The owner of new lake Slough House West has recently informed us that a shooting syndicate use the lake and it will be closed for occasional organised shoots.  Notification of these shoots will be by way of a notice at the entrance to the fishery and the lake will not (at this time) be subjected to a close season similar to those we are obligated to enforce at Rook Hall and Whitehouse Farm as part of our lease agreements.  Hopefully disruption will be kept to a minimum as we believe that the shooting parties are only active at dawn and dusk.

Slough House West – please do not fish if a sign is on display to say that shooting is in progress (not that you would want to unless you wear a bullet proof vest and tin hat).
