MAS NEW WATER ANNOUNCEMENT

The MAS committee, like all our members were bitterly disappointed when we found out that Howells Lake was to be sold by the landowner. It had always been one of our premier carp waters and many of you have enjoyed impressive catches over the years.

The committee have been working hard to find a replacement and are delighted to announce that we have re-secured the lease for Langford Long Lake.

As some of you will know, MAS used to have the fishing rights for this water, but unfortunately, we lost it, due to the actions of one of our members. It was then given over briefly to a syndicate, who again managed to lose the water.

‘Long Lake’ is located to the to the south of Little Park, and you can just see it on the left, as you turn right by the concrete pad to access Little Park. It is a mixed fishery of approximately 8.5 acres with some fifteen swims, two small islands and is stocked with a good head of Carp up to 30lbs, some particularly good Roach, Bream, perch and other silvers, so will be a fantastic addition to the club. We have worked incredibly hard to secure this water, and hopefully it will fill the gap left by losing Howells.

The western bank (Red line) will be strictly out of bounds to all anglers, in order to avoid the business activities undertaken at that end. There is some work to do to improve the swims, but it will be available to fish from Monday 7th February 2022.

We ask all members to be patient with us, with any improvement work and adhere strictly to the rules.

Please note ANY members not with prior approval, found on the lake, EVEN WALKING AROUND IT prior to the 7th, will be brought before the committee for disciplinary action.

Additionally, ANY member found breaching any of the access rules, or found within the out of bounds area,

will also be brought before the Committee and could face action from the club including a potential ban, so you HAVE been warned.

We will not tolerate any over-zealous members, ruining this hard-won water for the rest of the club.

Access is strictly from Maypole road, as per the entrance to Little Park and parking will be on the grass verge alongside the track on the north bank, which is clearly sign posted.

We hope that this will again, become one of our premier waters for many seasons to come and are looking forward to seeing the catch reports.

All the best and tight lines

The MAS team
