Totham Pit stocking policy

A few members have asked now that we have a new ten year lease on Totham Pit what our stocking policy is.  Based on previous experience we are proceeding cautiously and with this in mind we have moved two dozen carp from Bog Grove to Totham Pit with the owners consent to monitor how they fare next spring.  If all goes well we have purchased thirty carp averaging low doubles to stock into Totham Pit next autumn.  These are a good strain of fish that have grown to 25lb+ in some of our other waters so hopefully they will do likewise in Totham Pit.

Entrance now clear at Beckingham Hall

With many thanks to the Chairman and the member fishing at Beckingham Hall on Tuesday the fly tipped rubbish that was blocking the entrance gate at Beckingham Hall has now been moved out of the way.  The incident has been referred to the relevant authorities to investigate further as not only are the people who dumped the rubbish liable to prosecution but also the people living at the address where the clearance works were carried out.

Just one of the photos submitted as evidence, you can just about make out the entrance gate to  Beckingham Hall in the left background of the photo.

Found at Slough House Farm

A member who visited Slough House Farm on Friday 14th Oct has found what looks like a car parcel shelf or floor panel leaning against the car park fence. It may be that someone removed it to facilitate tackle movement and then forgot about it.  If the item is yours, and you would like it returned, please contact David the Secretary on the phone number shown in the rulebook and he will put you in touch with the member who has taken it home.

MAS garments make the perfect Christmas gifts

If you are wondering what to buy the Maldon AS member in your life don’t forget that we have a number of hoodies, hats, caps and shirts in stock in various sizes.  Please contact Denise or Paul on 01621 857427 if you would like to make a purchase.

We can’t be certain if wearing a MAS hoodie helped Graham Surridge catch the heaviest weight of carp in the Howells carp match final two years running but we can’t rule it out either!

Driberg cup result

The Driberg cup match was well attended by sixteen anglers on Sunday at Boreham Black Bridge, Steve Holden won the cup with a nice bag of Roach totalling 8lbs 15oz caught on bread punch. Second was Jeff Forman in an unfancied swim with 8lbs 6oz and third was Adam Brett with 7lbs 12oz.  All brought fish to the net and although it was very windy the rain held off making for a good day for all.  Sorry no photo!!!  - Kim.
